I quit my previous job. I start at the hotel restaurant on Monday. It wasn't worth it to make it all the way down to the harbor for the kind of business that the restaurant was getting. I was leaving with less money than I got there with sometimes. It was a sad thing BUT when I left my job back home to move here, I made a promise that I wouldn't cling to things that were hurting my situation, just because I felt obligated. The purpose of taking serving jobs was to remove the pressure and gain back some of my sense of control. I did enjoy working there and it was special to me because it was my first job since moving here but I'll be happy I let it go, I think. And if I'm not, oh well. I hope this new place is a good fit!
My last post included some details on my family cat, Henry and his health scare. He is out of surgery now and I'm going to drive down to pick him up in a few hours, with the aid of some dayquil. My parents are meeting me there and I haven't quite decided if I'm going to go down to visit with them or come back here and get started on the MOUNTAIN of laundry that needs washing. Exciting stuff, I know! Stay tuned!
Monday will be busy, with new jobs and terrifying vet appointments please don't cancel, Hampden Wellness Clinic! Until then though, there isn't much to do besides make a dent in my reading list and work on some writing. Oh, and snap some pictures of the gorgeous Mt. Vernon United Methodist Church that's nestled within walking distance of here! This is one gorgeous church.
I hope you have a lovely weekend planned!
